The real estate market in Santa Barbara saw mixed results in February 2023. While there was a decrease in the number of homes sold, the median sales price increased significantly compared to the previous month.
According to the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors, there were 49 homes sold in South Santa Barbara County during February, a slight decrease from January's 50 homes sold. The median sales price was $2.3 million, a 25% increase from January's median sales price of $1.78 million.
There was little change in the number of new listings in February, with 73 new properties listed, a number comparable to January's 71 new listings.
The average number of days a property spent on the market before being sold increased to 30 days in February, compared to 21 days in January. The total inventory of homes for sale in Santa Barbara increased slightly to 152 properties, an 8% increase from January's 140 properties.
The real estate market in Santa Barbara continues to exhibit strength, as there is a consistent demand for properties and a gradual increase in inventory.
